Bottle Labels – 2020
Wines Bottled in 2020
Note: These labels are from wines bottled in 2020, not started in 2020.
I made another kit for my niece — no, she wasn’t backsliding. A friend wanted half and that friend prefers sweet wines, so my niece decided to go in halves on one last Fun Wine kit. She’s not drinking these except when friends visit, so what she has will last a long time.
Most of the following labels are for the fresh West Coast grapes I purchased.
The Malbec had an off-flavor that I tried to mask by backsweetening with cherry juice. Most people like it, but it’s not my buddy, although I’m happy with the label.
In hindsight I’m unhappy with the next label, which came out a bit garish. Oh, well, I know what I won’t do in the future.
This is my 3rd merlot of 2019, which I dubbed “California” to differentiate it from the kits.
My niece asked me to make her a Pinot Noir. In these situations, I add up all costs, and she reimburses me for that amount. I’m an amateur and am keeping that status.
A few years back I estimated what I’d have to do to go pro. The amount of wine I’d have to sell put me firmly in “amateur” status!
