In early summer 2023 I started making kombucha, as my son & his wife gave me a basic kombucha kit for my birthday.
This is a LOT cheaper than buying commercial, which is grossly overpriced.
The first few batches were flavored with minced cherries, which worked well, but there’s a lot of chunks going down the hatch. Since then I’ve been flavoring with commercial juices.
I’m numbering batches by year and ordinal number, e.g., my first batch was labeled 23-01, the second batch 23-02, etc. One batch is gone by the time the next is ready to bottle, so keeping track of which-is-which isn’t a problem.
Note — I am a beer maker, so instead of swing-top bottles, I use 12 oz beer bottles and crown cap them.
