Yesterday (03/30/2026) I received a box of elderberry cuttings from a farm in northern Florida. The owners are branching into winemaking from elderberry products, and I’ve been providing winemaking guidance. The cuttings plus a bottle of their first wine (Elderberry with Apple juice) is a thank you for my help. I started helping with no intention of getting anything in return. That said, I’m very pleased to get the cuttings and the wine.
This section will be a running description of my efforts to grow elderberries. At this point this page is just a placeholder. I don’t have a firm idea regarding how I will document things. It may be on this page, it may be in a series of blog posts, or it may be a combination of the two.
